The planner is capable of handling six custom growth parameters for 100 different crop varieties. You can even use it to grow two or more variations of the same cultivar. For example, you could grow Scarlet Frills mustard as a young 12-day crop with no true leaves or as a mature 21-day crop with true leaves. Each variation will have a unique name, and the program will distinguish between the two.

A place to log data for every single tray you grow. Regardless of the variety, you can log data concerning planting density, time spent in each growth stage, days to harvest, yield, and more.

Readouts of important pricing and profit metrics, such as total cost per tray, average revenue per tray, net profit, and gross margin. The planner will calculate these metrics and more for 50 different crop varieties. At a glance, you'll be able to compare the profitability of each variety and determine if it's worthwhile to keep on your menu.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

We started building the Microgreens Planner when we had four varieties and only two customers. It eliminated the constant anxiety of worrying about if we planted on time or missed a planting entirely. Piedmont Microgreens now has 36 restaurant customers, more than 36 varieties, and grows for the highest rated farmer’s market in the state. Even though we grow >160 trays a week, we still use the Microgreens Planner to track nearly everything at the farm. However, the Planner is not a great fit for business owners that haven’t made their first sale or don’t have a predictable revenue stream.
